• Harrying of the North- King William of England (William the Conqueror) reacted to rebellions made by his people against him. He rode through the north of England with his army and burned houses, crops, cattle and land from York to Durham. He killed over 100,000 people, mainly from starvation and from the cold of that winter (no one had homes, they were burnt to ashes)
