9- Broadway/7 Avenue Local

The 9-Broadway/7 Avenue Local is a train line in the New York Subway. It shares its route and stations with the 1-Broadway/7 Avenue Local and (south of 96 Street), the 2-Broadway Express and the 3-Broadway Express.

Unlike the 1, which operates 24 hours daily, the 9 only runs weekdays. The 9 is a "skip-stop". "Skip-stop" service means that 1 trains stop only at certain stations, and 9 trains stop at other stations. This method saves times and increases frequency.
