A41 road

The A41 was a major trunk road in England, United Kingdom that linked London to Birkenhead. It passes through various towns and villages including Watford, Kings Langley, Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Tring, Aston Clinton, Aylesbury, Waddesdon, Bicester, Stratford, Warwick, Solihull and Birmingham. It follows part of the line of the old Roman road, Akeman Street. Subsequently it runs through Wolverhampton, Newport, Wem, Whitchurch and Chester.

With the opening of the M40 right through to its link up with the M42 at Birmingham in the early 1990s, much of the route has been downgraded, and renumbered accordingly. The only section that is still numbered as the A41 is the part from London to Bicester.
