Abraham Zapruder

Abraham Zapruder

Abraham Zapruder (May 15, 1905 - August 30, 1970) filmed the most famous amateur movie footage ever when he recorded US President John F. Kennedy's motorcade traveling through Dealy Plaza in Dallas, Texas, and wound up capturing on film the John F. Kennedy assassination. He used an inexpensive Model 414 PD Bell & Howell Zoomatic Director Series movie camera he had just bought and was trying out. This footage is known as the "Zapruder film".

Zapruder was also a witness before the Warren Commission, but could not identify where the shots came from.

He died of cancer in Dallas.
