Akan language

The Akan language group belongs to the Kwa language family. It is spoken in Ghana, and is made up of a group of similar languages which are mutually intelligible. The languages include Ashanti, Fante, Akuapem, Akyem, Twi and Kwahu, and have ties to tribal groups.

The Akan languages are some of the primary government-sponsored languages in Ghana.
