American Prayer
In
1978, six years after
The Doors broke up,
Ray Manzarek,
Robbie Krieger, and
John Densmore reunited and recorded backing tracks over
Jim Morrison's poetry (recorded between
1967-
1970). The result was the album
American Prayer. Morrison's poetry was often too raunchy to use in the
sixties. The album received mixed reviews and is today, still considered unusual.
