Ancaster, Ontario
Ancaster, Ontario is a town with a population of roughly 28,000 (
2001 census), located just west of
Hamilton. Ancaster is the most western point of the
Golden Horseshoe. Ancaster became part of the City of
Hamilton in 2001.
Ancaster is mostly a bedroom community, with most residents working in Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga and Toronto.
Highlights of Ancaster include:
- Hamilton Golf and Country Club, host of the PGA tour in 2003
- Dundas Valley Conservation Area, with 1200 hectares of forest and 40km of trails
