Babbler
A
babbler is any of many bird
species that belong to either of two unrelated
families: the
Timaliidae or
Old World babblers, and the
Pomatostomidae or
Australo-Papuan babblers. Prior to the development of modern molecular research methods (notably
DNA-DNA hybridisation) the members of the Pomatostomidae were included in the Timaliidae.
