Black Elk
Black Elk (d.
August 1950) was famous Oglala
Sioux holy man who participated in the
Battle of Little Big Horn. He revealed a number of sacred
Sioux rituals to western people for publication.
After converting to Catholicism in 1904, after his Catholic wife's death, he took the name Nicholas Black Elk.
