Blankenberge
Blankenberge is a
municipality located in the
Belgian province of
West Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Blankenberge proper and the town of Uitkerke. On January 1st, 2000 Blankenberge had a total population of 17,414 (8,291 males and 9,123 females). The total area is 18.07
km² which gives a
population density of 963.53 inhabitants per km².
There is a sandy beach and a structure unique along the Belgian coast: a 350 m long pier stretching out into the sea (built in 1933).
