Bourbon County gives its name to
bourbon whiskey, which was first distilled within its borders by the Rev.
Elijah Craig in the early
nineteenth century. For a whiskey to call itself "Kentucky Bourbon whiskey" it must have been made within the original borders of Bourbon County.
