Bregenzerwald

Bregenzerwald is one of the main valleys in the Vorarlberg Province of Austria.

The main River is called Bregenzer Ach. The inhabitants itself often divide the Bregenzerwald into two main parts, named Vorderwald and Hinterwald. The Vorderwald is coming up from the Rheintal with hills and lower Mountains, wheras the Hinterwald has the larger Mountains (up from 2000 metres). There is also a different dialect for the two parts.

The main village in Bregenzerwald are Bezau, where the court is settled, and Egg.

People mostly work in tourism and agriculture, the latter is decreasing rapidly due to better traffic connections to the Rheintal. In the last 30 years other economy has also grown.

Tourists often now the Bregenzerwald as a skiing resort. But there is a lot more, for example the "Bregenzerwälder Käsestrasse" or the "Schubertiade" festival only to mention two.
