A cell is a single unit or compartment, enclosed by a border or wall.

Examples of cells:

• prison cell
• Biological cell
• Electrochemical cell
• Radio cell, as used in cellular mobile and cell phone
• Geometric cell - the three-dimensional analogue of a face
• a covert cell of terrorists or partisans - a small organisation group designed to resist attempts at policing and counter-espionage
