Cesar Chavez
Cesar Estrada Chavez (
March 31,
1927 -
April 23,
1993) founded the
National Farm Workers Association (NFWA) and is known for supporting farm workers rights and a successful grape boycott. He was also a strong proponent of
nonviolence.
He was born near Yuma, Arizona.
