City University of New York
The
City University of New York (
CUNY) was organized in 1961 as the umbrella institution of the municipal colleges of the
City of New York. It includes:
- Original colleges incorporated into CUNY:
- Colleges formerly included in the above, now separate institutions:
- Baruch College (formerly the downtown campus of City College)
- Lehman College (formerly the Bronx campus of Hunter College)
- Newly created institutions:
- Two-year colleges:
- Borough of Manhattan Community College
- Bronx Community College--located on the original New York University Campus.
- Hostos Community College
- Kingsborough Community College
- LaGuardia Community College
- Queensborough Community College
CUNY has a
graduate school as well as a medical school and a law school.
