Claudia Roth (born May 15, 1955) is a German Green Party politician.

Biography

Roth was born in the city of Ulm, Germany, on May 15 1955. She attended the Simpert-Kraemer-Gymnasium grammar school in Krumbach, followed by an education as a dramatic advisor; she worked at a couple of theaters in Dortmund before becoming the manager of the German rock band Ton Steine Scherben.

1985 - 1989: Press spokeswoman for the German Green Party.
1985 - 1998: Member of the European Parliament (Chairmanwoman of the Green Party fraction from 1994 to 1998).
1998 - March 2001: Member of the Green Party faction in the German Parliament (Bundestag).
- Chairwoman of the Human Rights Board in the German Parliament
March 2001 - December 2002: Chairwoman of the German Green Party (together with Fritz Kuhn).
September 22 2002 - today: Member of the Green Party faction in the Bundestag again.
