Colorado River of Texas

The Colorado River which flows through Texas is often confused with the Colorado River which flows from the state of Colorado westward toward the Pacific Ocean. This river, allegedly misnamed because of a mapping error by early Spanish explorers, flows southeastward from the northwestern portion of Texas near the base of the Texas Panhandle toward the Gulf of Mexico.
