Cory Hall
Cory Hall is the
electrical engineering building at
University of California, Berkeley, situated at the northeastern corner of the central campus, facing Hearst Avenue. Named for Clarence Linus Cory, Dean of College of Mechanics from
1901 to
1930, it was the site of two attacks by the Unabomber,
Ted Kaczynski, in
1982 and
1985. Cory Hall is unique in that it is the only building to be targetted twice by Ted Kaczynski. The first attack injured Diogenes Angelakos, vice-chairman of the
computer science and
electrical engineering department. The second bomb was placed in a computer lab and injured student John Hauser.
