Daniel Johnston
Daniel Johnston is an
American singer and
songwriter perhaps most famous for recording his songs on a
boombox or for his requited love songs which he has performed on keyboard or guitar singing in his southern tenor voice. His music has been acclaimed by
Kurt Cobain,
Sonic Youth, and
Matt Groening. Being from
Austin,
Texas, some times some of his songs are even spiritual. One of Johnston's more famous songs is the one he did for Grammer Rock. Also of mention is that not only is Johnston an outsider musician but he also is an outsider artist and his T-shirt "Hi How Are You" got national exposure when it was worn by Kurt Cobain.
