Daphne Marlatt
Daphne Marlatt (born
July 11,
1942) is a
Canadian poet who lives in
Vancouver,
British Columbia. She was born in
Melbourne,
Australia as Daphne Buckle. At a young age her family moved to
Malaysia and at age nine they moved back to Vancouver, where she has since remained. She attended the
University of British Columbia. There she developed her poetry style and her strong
feminist views. He poetry, while considered extremely dense and difficult, is also much acclaimed.
