Bisbal was born in the city of Almeria, and he has two older siblings, a brother, Jose Maria Bisbal (born 1968) and a sister, Maria del Mar Bisbal (born 1971).
Bisbal left school because he did not like studying. Then, his parents found him a job. But Bisbal was becoming interested in music, so soon, he auditioned for an orchestra, named Orquesta Expresiones.
Bisbal performed in the orchestra as a singer, leading to his participation in Operacion Triunfo. When Bisbal was chosen as a winner, he went on to represent Spain at the Eurovision contest. Then, Bisbal was signed up by record company Vale Music, which sent him to Miami to record his first CD album.
Bisbal's first album, Corazon Latino (Latin Heart), has been a smash hit in Spain and all over Latin America, so much that he had to schedule a 2002-2003 tour that has covered places such as Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Argentina and a good proportion of the rest of South America and Central America, as well as the United States. It is estimated Bisbal has already earned over one million US dollars in his short career as a singer.
