In Sonic the Hedgehog video games, Doctor Eggman (in modern-day and Japanese versions), or Doctor Ivo Robotnik (early United States and European versions), is the archnemesis of Sonic the Hedgehog. Despite failure every time, the mad scientist with the I. Q. of 300 will never give up his quest for domination of Earth (or Mobius in the earlier U. S. and European versions)
