Doriath
In
J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional world of
Middle-earth,
Doriath was the land of the
Sindar. It was called the Fenced Land, for its queen,
Melian, put a girdle of enchantment about it, so that nobody could enter without King
Thingol's permission. It was destroyed by the
Dwarves and the sons of Fëanor.
