École des Hautes Études Commerciales
The
École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) is considered as one of the "four aces" among the
French Grandes Écoles, together with
Polytechnique, the
École nationale d'administration (ENA) and the
École Normale Supérieure (Normale Sup'). Unique to France, the
Grandes Écoles concept was introduced by
Napoleon so that "the best and the brightest" could be channelled into his armies and engineering corps.
