Geography

Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 1,426 people, 581 households, and 379 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 263.4/km² (683.4/mi²). There are 619 housing units at an average density of 114.4 persons/km² (296.7 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.88% White, 0.21% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 0.42% from two or more races. 0.98% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 581 households out of which 31.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.5% are married couples living together, 8.3% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 34.6% are non-families. 28.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 3.04.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 23.8% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 26.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.3% who are 65 years of age or older.
