Eucynodontia includes the most mammal-like of the "mammal-like reptiles" and all of their descendants; (ie: mammals). The name means 'true dog teeth'. Eucynodonts are first known from fossils of the Lower Triassic, though some specimens have been reported from the earlier Upper Permian.
