Finarfin

Fictional character from the writings of J. R. R. Tolkien.

The third and youngest son of Finwë, Finarfin's mother was Indis. His half brother was Fëanor and his full brother Fingolfin. He married Eärwen, princess of the Teleri. He had four children: Finrod Felegund, Angrod, Aegnor and Galadriel.* After the death of Finwë, Fëanor and Fingolfin, he departed for Middle-earth, but turned back when Mandos cursed the Noldor. Finarfin became King of the residual Noldor and presumably still rules from Tirion on Túna.

In Quenya, his name is actually Arafinwë, "Noble-finwë". Finarfin is the Sindarized form.
