1988's Truth and Soul was more successful commercially, and established the band as a popular cult group and touring attraction. It was three years, however, before the band returned with the full-length The Reality of My Surroundings in 1991 (1991 in music). With the burgeoning popularity of alternative rock, Fishbone was suddenly popular on the fringes of the mainstream and The Reality of My Surroundings was a success. Give a Monkey a Brain and He'll Swear He's the Center of the Universe and Chim Chim's Bad Ass Revenge were all successful only within the band's fanbase, and they were unable to break into the mainstream. Their latest album is Live at the Temple Bar and More in 2002 (2002 in music).
