Gang warfare
The conflict, especially in American society, between differing groups of people identifying themselves as gangs. A
gang may be formed based on city district boundaries, common ethnic background, common belief, such as white pride/white power gangs, or for personal protection in situations such as incarceration or widespread poverty. Gang warfare is commonly held over turf boundary disputes, the takeover of an area in order to bring in narcotics to push on the streets, personal rivalries, or simply the fact that the opposing group is different in some way. Gang warfare takes a huge toll on cities, families, and communities involved, especially in cities like Los Angeles, which can have over 40,000 violent crimes yearly, a large percentage due to gang violence.
