Gary Mounfield
Gary "Mani" Mounfield (born
November 16,
1962,
Manchester) is a
British rock musician. He joined the band
The Stone Roses (sometimes described as being part of the "
Madchester" music scene) as a bass player in
1987. Playing on both of the band's albums, Mani was in The Stone Roses until they disbanded in
1996. The same year, he joined
Bobby Gillespie's
Primal Scream.
As of 2004 he is still in Primal Scream.
Mani has also played together with Dot Allison, Death In Vegas, Aziz Ibrahim, and John Squire. He has a guest role in the movie 24 Hour Party People (2002).
