Ghent University
The
Ghent University (in Dutch,
Universiteit Gent or
UGent), one of the two big
Flemish universities, is located in the historic town of
Gent in
Flanders, the
Dutch-speaking (northern) part of
Belgium. It was founded in
1817.
In 1930 it became the first Belgian university to teach in the Dutch language.
