Giles Gilbert Scott

Giles Gilbert Scott (
9 November 1880-
8 February 1960) was an
English architect, the grandson of another noted architect,
George Gilbert Scott. Born in
1880, he was educated at Beaumont College.
He is perhaps best known for his prize-winning design of 1903 for the new Anglican cathedral in Liverpool. Although consecrated in 1924, Liverpool Cathedral was not completed until the 1980s.

He was also involved in rebuilding the
Palace of Westminster after damage done during
World War II and was the designer of the famous British
red telephone box (1936).
