Guilford is a town located in Windham County, Vermont. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,046.

United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 103.5 km² (40.0 mi²). 103.3 km² (39.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.20% water.

Demographics

census of 2000, there are 2,046 people, 811 households, and 575 families residing in the town. The population density is 19.8/km² (51.3/mi²). There are 931 housing units at an average density of 9.0/km² (23.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.07% White, 0.05% African American, 0.24% Native American, 0.49% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.39% from other races, and 1.76% from two or more races. 0.68% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 811 households out of which 34.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.2% are married couples living together, 9.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.0% are non-families. 21.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.52 and the average family size is 2.95. In the town the population is spread out with 26.1% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 28.0% from 25 to 44, 30.9% from 45 to 64, and 9.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 100.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.7 males.
