Gyeongbu

The name Gyeongbu (경부 (京釜) in Korean) refers to the Seoul-Busan corridor in South Korea, and is used as the name of the Gyeongbu railway line (Gyeongbuseon; 경부선; 京釜線) and Gyeongbu Expressway (Gyeongbu Gosok Doro; 경부 고속 도로; 京釜高速道路), both of which connect the Seoul--the South Korean capital and largest city--to Busan--the largest port and second-largest city. The name "Gyeongbu" is formed from the first characters in the names "Gyeongseong" (경성 (京成), the Korean form of "Keijo" (京成), the former Japanese name for Seoul) and "Busan" (부산 (釜山)).
