Harry Martinson (May 6, 1904 - February 11, 1978) is a Swedish author and poet from Blechingia (Blekinge). He was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature in 1974 together with Eyvind Johnson. In 1949 he was elected into the Swedish Academy.
One of his most famous works is the novel Aniara (1956) which in 1959 became an Opera, composed by Karl-Birger Blomdahl.
