High Council of State
The
High Council of State in
Algeria was a collective presidency set up by the military in
1992 following the annulled elections in December
1991.
It consisted of:
Chairman of the HCS was Mohamed Boudiaf from
16 January 1992 until his death in
29 June 1992. It was then Ali Kafi until the HCS was replaced by president
Liamine Zéroual in
1994.
