Hinckley is a village located in DeKalb County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,994.

Demographics

census of 2000, there are 1,994 people, 730 households, and 556 families residing in the village. The population density is 810.4/km² (2,100.7/mi²). There are 761 housing units at an average density of 309.3/km² (801.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 97.69% White, 0.30% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.10% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.60% from other races, and 1.10% from two or more races. 2.51% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 730 households out of which 38.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.8% are married couples living together, 7.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.8% are non-families. 18.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.73 and the average family size is 3.14. In the village the population is spread out with 28.9% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 33.5% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 99.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.2 males. The median income for a household in the village is $58,043, and the median income for a family is $65,726. Males have a median income of $45,179 versus $27,500 for females.
