The first HMAS Success (H-02) was an S class destroyer laid down by the Northumberland Shipbuilding Company, Limited, of William Doxford and Sons at Sunderland, launched on 29 June 1918, completed in 1918, transferred to the Royal Australian Navy in July 1919 and commissioned as HMAS Success on 27 January 1920. HMAS Success paid off on 21 May 1931 and was sold for scrap on 4 June 1937.
