Hofheim, Hesse
Hofheim (often
Hofheim am Taunus to distinguish it with another Hofheim in
Bavaria) is a small
German city, the capital of the district
Main-Taunus in the west of
Hesse. Population 40863 (2002), geographical position 50° 6' North 8° 25' East. The city was first mentioned in
1262 as
Hoveheim.
The city is located at the south side of the Taunus mountains, 17 km west of Frankfurt and 17 km west of Wiesbaden and Mainz.
