Although the central business district is old and well developed, and is called "Huntington Village" locally, it is not incorporated and does not have a village form of government with a mayor, it would be properly described politically as the Hamlet of Huntington.

Huntington Village is located at 40°52'40" North, 73°24'49" West (40.877798, -73.413687)1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the hamlet has a total area of 19.87 km² (7.67 mi²). 19.51 km² (7.53 mi²) of it is land and 0.36 km² (0.14 mi²) is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 18,403 people, 7,052 households, and 4,992 families residing in the hamlet. The racial makeup of the hamlet is 93.7% White, 2.1% African American, 0.1% Native American, 1.8% Asian, (n=2) Pacific Islander, 1.1% from other races, and 1.1% from two or more races. 3.6% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
