Huntsville is a city located in Randolph County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,553. It is the county seat of Randolph County6.

census of 2000, there are 1,553 people, 595 households, and 402 families residing in the city. The population density is 253.0/km² (656.1/mi²). There are 684 housing units at an average density of 111.4/km² (289.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 91.50% White, 6.12% African American, 0.58% Native American, 0.06% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.06% from other races, and 1.67% from two or more races. 0.64% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 595 households out of which 36.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.6% are married couples living together, 10.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.4% are non-families. 28.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.51 and the average family size is 3.09. In the city the population is spread out with 27.4% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 14.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 97.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 90.4 males. The median income for a household in the city is $30,524, and the median income for a family is $38,043. Males have a median income of $25,000 versus $19,423 for females.
