Iamblichus
Two historical persons go by the name
Iamblichus (
Greek: Ιάμβλιχος)
- The epic writer, from Syria or Babylonia, c:a 200. He wrote a book by the name Babylonian tales containing a love story about Rhodanes and Sinonis.
- The neoplatonist philosopher, died c:a 330. He was a mystic and wrote on the subjects of pythagoreanism, platonism and several other beliefs. He embraced emanationism. The most famous work of Iamblichus is his biographical book about Pythagoras.
