Igor Kurchatov

Igor Kurchatov (January 8, 1903 - February 7, 1960) was the chief scientist working under Stalin to develop a Soviet nuclear bomb (1949) and later Soviet hydrogen bomb (1953). Later in life, he advocated against nuclear bomb tests and worked over peaceful nuclear applications.
