In fact, some highway mavens propose extending I-45 from there to Muskogee, Oklahoma to Vinita, Oklahoma through east Kansas along US 69 all the way up to Interstate 35 (where the US 69 freeway ends now) in the Kansas suburban side of Kansas City.
Even though it would cost a lot of money, I-35 should be routed to North Dakota replacing I-29 and I-45 to Minnesota. This will then make both transcontinental interstates.
