IPFW

Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne (IPFW) is a regional university campus located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. As a joint campus of Indiana University and Purdue University, IPFW offers undergarduate and graduate degrees from both universities among its 175 academic programs.

History

In 1917, Indiana University started offering courses in Fort Wayne to 142 students in 12 courses. At a separate location, Purdue started the Purdue University Center in 1947. The two campuses merged in 1964 and opened a joint location, the present campus, in northeast Fort Wayne on the banks of the St. Joseph River.

Athletics

With the
Mastodon as their mascot, IPFW athletes compete as a NCAA Division IA school in the Mid-American Conference in tennis and the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. Otherwise, they are without conference affiliation.
