Jack Aubrey
Jack Aubrey is the protagonist of a series of novels by
Patrick O'Brian.
Taking place in the times of the wars between
Napoleon and
England, they are very loosely based on the exploits of the historical
Thomas, Lord Cochrane.
There are twenty books in the series. Major characters include Captain Jack Aubrey, and his particular friend Stephen Maturin, physician, secret agent, naturalist, and agitator for Catalan freedom.
