Jack Black (born (April 7, 1969) is a film and television actor and musician. He was born in Santa Monica, California and attended the University of California at Los Angeles.
His movie debut was in 1992 in Bob Roberts, where he was a background voice. He is most well known by his role in the movies School of Rock (2003), Orange County (2002), Shallow Hal (2001), and High Fidelity (2000).
He is the lead singer for the band Tenacious D.
