Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux

Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, sometimes called Jules Carpeaux (May 11, 1827 - October 12, 1875) was a French sculptor who studied under François Rude. In 1854 he won the Prix de Rome and spent the years 1854 - 1861 in Rome studying the works of Michelangelo, Donatello and Verrocchio.
