John P. O'Neill
John P. O'Neill was a top American anti-terrorism expert. He died at age 49 in the collapse of the
World Trade Center during the
September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack. O'Neill was an
FBI special agent in charge of national security in the FBI's New York office. He directed the investigation of the
Osama bin Laden global terrorist conspiracy, including the American embassy bombings in Africa in 1998. He retired from the FBI in August, 2001, to become the World Trade Center director of security. The body was recovered September 21
