Jose Fernando Abascal

Jose Fernando Abascal (1743-1821) was a Spanish commander born at Oviedo in 1743. At the age of 19 he entered the army in 1804 was appointed Viceroy of Peru. In 1816 after being replaced by General Pezuela he returned to Spain, where he died at the age of 79 in 1821.
